Villa Miramare is a beautiful private country home set in a panoramic position in the hills between Positano and Sorrento. Positano, located on the southern coast of the Peninsula, is a perfect spot from which to visit the neighbouring Amalfi Coast and its towns, including Amalfi and Ravello. In addition, its location, just 25 minutes from Sorrento, brings Naples, Capri, Ischia, and Pompeii all within easy reach. This charming, old country house has been carefully furnished with antiques, prints, watercolours, and ceramic artwork preserving the important traditions of the Campania region. The style of the house, carved out of the volcanic rock hillside, together with the fresh colours of blue, white, and yellow, which run throughout from the fabrics to the wall coverings to the doors to the coloured tile floors, combine to create an extraordinary seaside home, truly representative of its region. With private gardens and terraces planted with palm trees, bougainvillea, and other flowering plants, Villa Miramare is a perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing vacation.

Ground Floor

The ground floor enjoys a cozy living room with two comfortable couches, sofas, chairs and a reclining chaise lounge and working fireplace. Double doors open directly to the trellis-covered terrace where one finds numerous lounge chairs and spacious areas to relax. The spacious, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with table seating for 8, boasts a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, and washing machine, while a glass paned door gives access to a covered loggia, which has two marble topped tables seating 16. Double bedroom is located off of the living room and boasts a double bed with a handcrafted headboard, armoire, side chairs, night stand, and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub.

First Floor

5 steps up from the ground floor lies a guest bathroom (1/2 bath). 14 steps bring you to a double bedroom in brilliant yellow with a picture window revealing stunning views of the Li Galli islands. A reclining chaise lounge from which to enjoy the view is at the foot of the bed. Charming bathroom with shower, lace curtains, and antique ceramic washbasin. Double doors open out onto a terrace with lounge chairs and buil-in benches with cushions. There is also a single bedroom with bathroom with shower situated next to this double, but we consider this an ‘extra’ or kids bedroom, as the single lies at the entrance of the double bedroom and does not provide 100% privacy.

Second Floor

An external staircase of 12 steps from the terrace leads to the second floor, which has two double bedrooms, each with twin beds and nice en-suite bathrooms with showers.

Cottage

An independent cottage/guest house is located in the garden, about 40 meters away from the main house. It is delicately furnished in the style from the 40’s with a living room with sofa (which can become a single bed) and a picture window. The cottage enjoys a delightful double bedroom with terracotta floors and en-suite bathroom with shower. Double beds may be made into twins on request. The Cottage, Master Bedroom (ground floor), double bedroom (1st floor) and one of the twins (2nd floor) enjoy air conditioning. The extensive and well-maintained gardens host a lovely swimming pool and additional terraces or paved areas ideal for relaxing while enjoying the spectacular views.
