Villa Maja is located along the Amalfi Coast, about a 30-minute drive from both Positano and Sorrento.Upon passing through a private, electric gate, an olive tree and flower-lined country road leads you to the property set amidst a lawn with countless trees and plants. Parking on the grounds, where 4 steps leads through the garden up to a panoramic terrace facing to the Galli Islands furnished with tables and sofa armchairs.  Villa Maja is a beautiful private country home set in a panoramic position in the hills between Positano and Sorrento.  Positano, located on the southern coast of the Peninsula, is a perfect spot from which to visit the neighbouring Amalfi and Ravello. In addition, its location, just 25 minutes from Sorrento, brings Naples, Capri, Ischia, and the archaeological site of Pompeii (reachable in 40 minutes car drive) all within easy reach.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

The style of the house is elegant and contemporary. The vaulted ceilings as often found in the patrician houses of southern Italy are very interesting. The house is very bright and all the windows have sea views. The garden, very flowery with plants of Mediterranean species (bougainvillea geraniums etc.), is large and completely exposed towards the sea, facing the famous Galli islands.

Ground Floor

Villa Maja is accessed from a French door to a central living room and a side lounge with TV furnished with modern and very colorful paintings. In one of the lounges there is a large TV. The rooms are accessed directly from the living rooms. This floor has 4 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. (The first is under construction and it was not possible to photograph it. It will still be double and will have an en-suite bathroom). The second bedroom is furnished in a modern style with fuchsia headboards. With a view towards Positano, we find the third bedroom which has a modern black chest of drawers and wrought iron headboards. The original decoration by Fornasetti of the en-suite bathroom is delightful. The fourth bedroom has an antique chest of drawers and very colorful upholstery. Here too we find an en-suite bathroom decorated with flowers.

First Floor

A staircase leads to the upper floor which hosts as an open space in which we find a large and well-equipped kitchen that is tiled with tiles that reflect ancient Positano designs and with a table seating eight people The large living room is furnished with a sofa and has hand painted cabinets with local landscapes. On the walls, we can find a precious collection of original posters. From the ground floor there is access to a splendid panoramic terrace furnished with a sofa and armchairs and equipped with a large table for 8/10 people.

Swimming pool

The pool lies in the center of the garden, which faces the Sea, right in front of The Galli islands. The pool has a particular shape and it’s 10 metes long and the pool area is furnished with sun lounge chairs.

LOCATION AND DISTANCE

As this property is located in the hillside between Positano and Sorrento, a car is recommended.  The town of Positano with shops, beaches, and restaurants is 20 minutes away as is Sorrento where you can take the ferry to Naples, Capri, and Ischia.
