Villa Comasca is an elegant property built high on the cliff of the lake with many elements pointing to a Liberty style of architecture. Its interiors are beautifully maintained with a modern and antique mix of décor from renowned Italian designers such as Fornasetti and Castelli Minetti.
Ground Floor
The panoramic living room, which can also be accessed through a sliding glass door from the terrace, is full of light thanks to its design and windows. The main living room, to the left of the sitting room, enjoys a fireplace, satellite TV, several sofas, and small table. To the right is a dining table seating 8. The kitchen is equipped with all modern comforts including a 5 range stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, robot Kenwood, duel coffee machines (espresso & ‘American’ coffee, a toaster oven and two separate baking ovens. There is also a wood dining table for 8 guests as well as a BBQ. The main terrace, located on the ground floor and can also be accessed through the living room, enjoys iron tables and chairs and all shaded by an electrical tent.
First Floor
Between the kitchen and the living room is a staircase leading to the upper floors. The windows along the staircase are made from original, decorative Murano glass and are considered valuable collectibles. 20 steps up lead to the first floor, where three double bedrooms are located, as well as Murano glass decorative pieces. The first spacious double bedroom enjoys a King size bed (190 x 200 cm), a large mirror, several antique chairs, and lake views. The bedroom enjoys an en-suite black tile bathroom with a bathtub, large walled mirror and a Murano glass window. There is a second, spacious bathroom with bath and shower, also enjoying lake views, which is shared by the other two double bedrooms located on the opposite side of the first floor. One of the bedrooms is colored red and boasts iron headboard; this bedroom can also be converted into a twin (2 beds, each 90 x 200 cm) and enjoys windows with lake views. The 3rd bedroom can also be converted into a twin. The shared bath has a bathtub and a large shower box, as well as the infamous lake view windows made from Murano glass.
Second Floor
The second floor is up another flight of 20 steps. To the left lies a spacious double bedroom with a double bed with iron headboard. This bedroom can also be converted into a twin. It enjoys a massive wooden wardrobe, a safe box, a lovely en-suite bathroom with decorative Fornasetti tiles, a large Jacuzzi shower with a chromo therapy shower box, a large mirror, marble sinks, and an oval shaped window. All bedrooms boast memory form matrasses, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
Basement Floor
12 steps down from the entrance hall is the basement level is a nice den with parquet floors, a pool table, sitting area with comfortable sofas, and a central coffee table. The room enjoys a flat screen Sat-TV with SKY, a DVD and stereo player, and large windows with beautiful lake views. There is also a small guest bathroom and a laundry with a washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.
Garden
From the lower floor a path of 40 steps leads through the garden. The staircase runs along the rock wall on which the house is built. The intimate garden is well maintained as is the lawn and the ancient trees over a century old. The garden overlooks the lake. There is a nice solarium with sunbeds and chairs. The center of the garden houses a fishpond with a waterfall and a bronze statue representing a Faune. There is a private boat dock and direct lake access. The owners beautiful handcrafted wooden Colombo boat can be chartered, with boat captain, on request (not included in property rental). Recently in the garden has been built a nice swimming pool that can be heated at an extra charge. Here you can relax during hottest summer days, drinking a good cocktail in the shadow of the big tree you will find close to the swimming pool, enjoying the amazing view of the lake just in front.
Access & Parking
Easily accessible from main lake road, which runs along the lake a few km from Como. There is private parking for up to 4 cars.
