No other wine area in the world has such an extensive offer, when it comes to food and wine. The Lange is home to several Michelin starred restaurants as well as a multitude of genuine and authentic taverns and trattorias – actually this area of Italy is the birthplace of the SlowFood Organization.Protected by the Alpine arch to the northwest of Italy, you will find the Langhe Featuring a soft hilly profile, shaped by the peasant tradition, they offer a landscape unparalleled in every season. Monforte d’Alba is found in this piece of paradise of Italy: the old houses of the village stand against the foot of a steep hill, in an enchanting position. The name “monte forte” comes from a military expression used to indicate its important strategic position during the wars between the local lords. After having been owned by many different families, the town was since 1700 a property of the marquis Scarampi. The village contains interesting sights: for example Monfortes ancient castle Palazzo Scarampi, which is thought to date back to the 1200s and Auditorium Horszowski, an open space in the middle of the town shaped like an amphitheater. Monforte d’Alba is part of the zone of the noble Barolo wine production area.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Villa Monforte celebrates the authentic artisan traditions, the richness of flavours and tastes, the authentic spirit of this specific area of Piemonte. The Villa is a concept which express hospitality as a memory of a territory and it’s heritage. The building materials, the interior and the furnishing all are crafted and natural. Food used for breakfast vary according to seasonality, are local and ecologic. A kitchen with handmade table linen and towels, porcelain dish service and cutlery. A living area dedicated to relax: a loft dedicated to music and reading, with more than hundred books by local authors. Home Theatre System (via Bluetooth). Chessboard and card games. A wellness area with sauna and steam room and emotional showers.

The Suites of Villa Monforte have breathtaking views of surrounding Alps and the hills of Barolo.Details such as handmade sheets and blankets carefully made by local artisans, closet with mirror and safe made bny local craftsmanship and Italian design rooms completes these beautifuo bedrooms. Please note, that the bedrooms  does not have TV’s. Each bedrooms is supplied with handmade slippers, dressing gowns and pajamas.  The five bathrooms all have showers while one bathroom has shower and bathtub; Stone sinks and wooden wardrobes, Vintage mirrors and lights. Hair dryer.

Double room with made-to-measure Queen size bed or twin bed. The room enjoys view of the Monviso Alps and has a floor in ancient chestnut wood. Bathroom with shower, natural body products arranged in handmade ceramics. Bedroom and bathroom are suitable also for people with limited mobility.

Suite C (23 sqm)

Double room with made-to-measure King size bed or twin bed. The room enjoys view of the Monviso Alps and the internal garden and has a floor in ancient chestnut wood. Cabinets and headboards are entirely made in walnut wood. Lamps and chairs are made in Italian design. Bathroom with shower, natural body products arranged in handmade ceramics.   

Suite B (19 sqm)

Double room with King size bed or twin bed. The room enjoys view of the Monviso Alps. Vienna straw bed made by craftsmen from Cuneo Antice furniture and lighting of Italian design. Floor in ancient chestnut wood. Cabinets and headboards are entirely made in walnut wood. Bathroom with shower, natural body products arranged in handmade ceramics. 

Suite D (19 sqm)

• Double with King-size bed or twin bed. View on the Monviso Alps and the town of Monforte
• Rope bed made to order in combination with ancient benches and seats in marsh grass

Single Bedroom (11 sqm)

Single bedrooms with Queen-size bed. Two small windows overlook the Monviso and a hidden street. Floor in ancient chestnut wood. Small bathroom with full floor shower, natural body products arranged in hand made ceramics

Swimming pool

The garden is surrounded by private walls and has a nice swimming pool with salt water. Pool measures 6.00 meters large x 3.00 m wide, 1,40 m deep.

Access & Parking

The house lies in the center of the little hamlet, in an area which is entirely pedestrian.There is also a good amount of street parking at only 3 min walk from the house. Guest are allowed to access the house by car for unloading and loading the luggage.
