Villa La Corte is an extraordinary journey through the heart of Medieval and Renaissance art and history; a 14th Century hamlet and estate composed by a farm that produces excellent quality IGP olive oil, with five exclusive buildings: The Villa, The Farmhouse, The Workshop, The Olive Mill, and The Study. Surrounded by the famous rolling green hills lined with cypresses and embraced by 30 acres of vineyards, olive groves, forest and a lake, Villa La Corte, with its magnificent position, is a true postcard image of Tuscany. The property overlooks the city of Florence on one side and the famous landscape of the Chianti hills on the other, extending towards the majestic Certosa in Galluzzo, to Brunelleschi’s Cupola, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

Today Villa La Corte shines once again thanks to the skilful work of restoration commissioned by the family, who has owned the hamlet since 2010. The result is an extraordinary estate, where the charm and art of the past meet contemporary comfort to create a special blend. Inside Villa la Corte’s immense park, the hamlet’s five villas, each with its own private garden, make up an exceptional estate, including a 150 square meter pool, a refined wellness center, and an organic vegetable patch with seasonal delicacies. The hamlet’s exclusive pearl is the famous ” Chapel”, decorated internally with it’s original frescoes.The estate, once owned a well-known Renaissance family of painters, was the workshop to many apprentices, including Michelangelo, where they learned the fine art of painting. The hamlet was not only a place where the family who owned it used to reunite, but was also a location where some the most prominent artists of the Renaissance period, such as Raffaello, Pontormo and Botticelli, were entertained. Villa La Corte houses an entire Renaissance hamlet, and walking through it’s streets and paths, surrounded by lush greenery, you can breathe the scents of the bushes of aromatic plants and delicate flowers that cover the gardens and the Residence’s rooms. Characteristic corners and magnificent views open onto the surrounding hills, while centuries-old trees offer shade and refreshment from the sun that lights up the countryside.A pool in the middle of the park extends 150 sqm, providing a refreshing relaxation outlet in the frame of an extraordinary landscape. The hamlet also includes a wellness centre in the villa’s basement, and the exclusive restaurant in the estate’s old building with a beautiful garden in front.

The Villa

Located at the center of Villa la Corte estate, the main villa retains its historically refined elegance thanks to a careful refurbishing that preserved its original appearance. The ample front, with its windows framed in pietra serena stone, boasts a double staircase leading down to the garden.

Ground Floor:

At the ground floor you will be welcomed by a large living room with a fireplace with comfortable sofas. The mild tones of the wood floor harmonize with the pastel walls, lit by the light from the windows that open onto the outer balcony. The living room opens onto a large dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen, a bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and a library/study with a service bathroom. The two-colored kitchen floor alternates Bardiglio and Carrara marble. The walls are decorated with geometrical trompe-l’oeils that endow all the rooms with a timeless grace.

First Floor:

The first floor has 3 bedrooms with King Size beds, ensuite bathroomsdecorated in precious marble of different colors. The whitewashed walls make for a bright and pleasant atmosphere, highlighted by the durmast wood floors. A feature of every room, a magnificent view of the beautiful gardens surrounding the estate and the landscape of hills, woods, and silver-hued olive groves.

Second Floor:

On the second floor there is the ancient dovecote, 1 Bedroom with a King size bed and ensuite bathroom with a breathtaking view.

Lower level:

The Lower level of the main villa boasts the SPA area

Dependance (La Limonaia):

The main villa also has an external dependence that features one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a living area.

The Farmhouse:

The Farmhouse is one of the sixteenth-century villas of the estate, which is transformed into a classy residence. Respectful of the original style, the restoration offers sober elegance and impeccable comfort, enhanced by the typical materials of the ancient Tuscan farmhouses, such as Macigno stone and the famous Impruneta terracotta. With four rooms, La Fattoria offers splendid views of Florence and the surrounding hills. The structure is completed by a large panoramic courtyard and exclusive access to the Chapel.

Ground Floor:

The ground floor includes a living room with a large stone fireplace. In every room, the refurbishing brought to light the original vaulted ceiling with Impruneta terracotta tiles, a precious testament to the terracotta tiles produced which were used in the construction of many Florentine buildings.

First Floor:

The first-floor features 4 bedrooms ( of which 1 single) , all with ensuite bathrooms. The ceilings with plastered beams, the wooden floors, and the carefully selected furnishings make for an atmosphere of welcoming serenity.

The Olive Mill:

The name conjures up the ancient function of this building, devoted to the milling of the olives, but today have been transformed into a prestigious luxury accommodation endowed with a welcoming, convivial atmosphere and a magnificent loggia, with its arches forming a comfortable space in the shade overlooking the verdant garden.

Ground Floor:

Accessed through the loggia, the charming entrance hall boasts boards obtained from discarded ancient wooden beams, preserving natural imperfections that further enhance its beauty. The whitewashed walls with finishings in pietra serena are a perfect counterpoint for the stone walls and the fireplace in pietra forte. The dining room and the vast kitchen are equally elegant and bright, and open out onto the inner courtyard.The Olive Mill’s 3 bedrooms are furnished with great elegance and sophisticated equilibrium. The refined finishings and the comfort of these rooms make them the ideal spot to spend moments of harmony and relaxation. One of the bedrooms and a room that is set up as a study overlook the inner courtyard and are isolated from the rest of the building. An exclusive solution if you wish to reserve yourselves some precious moments of privacy.

Dependence:

The Olive mill also has an external dependence, reach by an internal courtyard with two

King bed rooms both with ensuite bathrooms and a living area.

The Study:

Kissed by the sun of the Tuscan countryside, this building is the ideal hideaway for your hours of rest and the perfect accommodation to welcome more meditative spirits in search of peace and creativity. A unique feature of this accommodation is its arrangement on three levels, with a mezzanine that can be accessed directly from the outdoors. The garden includes a pretty arbor with table and chairs to take your meals outside or enjoy an aperitif relaxing in the peace and quiet of the countryside. The latter further enhances the privacy of the location with the intimacy of an outdoor space surrounded by verdant hedges. Herbs, bougainville, and fruit trees will enhance your feeling of relaxation by creating an atmosphere of luxuriant harmony.

The outdoor of the property has been recently restored to its flourishing beauty. The old plants, such as the olive trees and the forest trees, have been joined by hedges of bay, yew, and laurestine, typical of the Tuscan countryside. Wild rose, lavender, sage, and iris fill the air with delicate scents and aromas. Special care was reserved for the ancient east Bastion, which has been transformed into a natural overlook with a small grove of pines and cypresses. A small corner of Heaven for your moments of contemplation. To this day, the Villa la Corte preserves the unique allure of a private oasis where the pleasure of privacy is coupled with the abundance of nature. Here, cultivating wellbeing is a ritual repeated since the Renaissance, today enhanced by the presence of the outdoor swimming pools and a vast array of modern commodities.

Swimming Pool:

Inside the stunning park that surrounds the estate lie two marvelous swimming pools. The Restaurant and the organic vegetable patch:

The restaurant at Villa La Corte is tailor-made for each guest, to fully satisfy their taste and needs. REFUNDABLE DAMAGE DEPOSIT:

Upon arrival the amount of € 3500 will be pre-authorized for the guests’ credit card. The General Manager or a delegated person together with the Houseekeper Manager will verify before the check-out if any damage has been made and inform the guest if necessary. The pre-authorization € 3500 or the balance in case any damage has been made shall be cancelled after departure.
