PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Inside the villa there are magnificent frescoes and fine period furnishings that decorate the large rooms of the building. Villa La Primula has more to offer, more to enjoy your stay and that you can meet and live an authentically Italian experience. The villa is also surrounded by a park which is a botanical treasure where around the middle of the nineteenth century also gave impetus to the estate’s winemaking activity. Today you can still admire fascinating Italian gardens and lush grassy and wooded meadows that host thousands of age-old and exotic species. The villa does have a winery located in a magnificent building that housed the ancient basement of Cosimo Ridolfi in 1800. Even 150 years ago it was considered a state of-the-art structure with running water thanks to a system of storage tanks and was equipped with a heating system that allowed a kind of temperature control during the wine making. The buildings of Villa La Primula complex extend over a total area of about 10,000 square meters and on a property that has a total area of approximately 400 hectares. The complex is made up of buildings from different eras, the result of transformations that have taken place over more than a millennium and comprises. The main buildings are, the Villa, the Farm and the Stables. In addition to these are other buildings located on the property such as barns, a wine cellar premises for agricultural use, as well as a small private area.
Ground floor
The ground floor is accessible by an entrance hall with frescoes. To the left of the entrance there is the stairwell leading to the upper floors. To the left of the entrance, a stone ramp leads to the basement. Next to the stairwell there is a reading room. On the ground floor of the main body are the representative rooms of the building. In the first room, there is a hall connected by two large arched openings to the dining room of the original villa. Proceeding along the main corridor towards the rear elevation, there is, on the left, a room used as a billiard room. From the drawing room, passing through the main corridor, there is the dining room with seating for up to 24 guests, which is very bright due to the presence of three large windows. The secondary body of the villa, also accessible by the outside area entrances (two on the main front and one on the secondary front), gathers the service functions of the villa: the spaces dedicated to the kitchen, the oven, the pantry, the storerooms and the secondary staircase are gathered here. Beyond these rooms there is the third body of the building, perpendicular to the other two, on a single level which becomes a terrace accessible by external stairs. The Limonaia has the peculiarity of having two sides that are almost completely glazed: large windows and French windows allow views of part of the monumental garden. Stunning indoor pool with separate Jacuzzi with two seating. Large double shower and toilet facilities.
First Floor
Returning towards the entrance and climbing the main staircase, there is a floor dedicated only to the sleeping area. Going up to the stairs, on the right side, there is a first room. Proceeding further to the right side, there is another room that connects the villa with the adjacent chapel, through a door. Proceeding to the left side instead, there is a large room that faces to the front where you find access to a balcony. The room becomes the central nucleus of this part of the floor because it connects all the rooms around by four doors. Following to the front, there is one bedroom located on the corner. Proceeding through a small corridor you can reach a hallway and two other rooms. The first room faces the side; the second has a large space with two French windows where you can have access to the terrace behind the villa. Three other rooms also overlook the terrace behind and are connected by a small corridor. The terrace overlooks the part of the garden behind the Villa. The first floor can be also reached by secondary stairs or by a small service corridor. The first floor is occupied by the theatre, an enormous space completely frescoed.
Second Floor
The second floor is a service floor with a large open loggia surrounded on three sides by a series of rooms that roughly follow the floor plan of the first floor. On this floor lied six of the Suites. Through a small hallway or via the secondary staircase, we find four service rooms.
Third Floor
The two towers, which can be reached via the two flights of stairs on the right and the left side of the loggia, both have four windows and provide 360° view of the panorama.
Basement
The main portion of the basement, is composed of a series of mostly vaulted rooms. The spaces present a poor level of finish precisely because of the role they played, storerooms and cellars, also for wine, as can be seen from some of the structures that were used to support the barrels.
