Located 5 km from Lucca, the estate is surrounded by a 5-hectare park with vineyards and olive groves. The vast area of the city of Caponnori boasts numerous fortresses, castles and medieval towers alongside Renaissance villas and other elegant and refined buildings. The Villa is located in a gracious small village at the foot of the Mount Pisano, which separates Lucca from Pisa. A place rich in history and beautiful nature: small streams, breath-taking landscapes and amazing panoramas. This particular area of Lucca countryside offers many kind of outdoor activities: hiking (Pizzorne and Mount Pisano), tours of the historical Villas (Villa Bernardini, Villa Buonvisi etc.), fitness trails (Marlia), nature reserves (Gherardesca lake, WWF Bottaccio oasis), termal baths (San Giuliano Terme). Horseback riding lovers will be delighted to enjoy a ride in the wild, just a 10 minutes drive away, in a beautiful horse farm. For tennis players, an exclusive Tennis Club is just a 5 minute drive away. A relaxing but also entertaining vacation in a landscape full of history. The historic centre of Lucca is just 8 km away, a town famous for its medieval walls, also known as the town of the 100 Churches. This elegant luxury villa rental is situated in Tuscany on a family run estate, a few kilometres south of Lucca, with magnificent views over hill terraced olive groves. Villa Geranio offers the highest levels of luxury, comfort and services for families or groups of friends. There is a chapel within the estate, making these properties also suitable for weddings and other special events. The villa has 8 bedrooms (7 double bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a twin bedroom, and 1 single bedroom). It is a beautiful holiday home, sitting on a wooded hillside, surrounded by a beautiful floodlit park. To the front of the villa stretches a lawn with swimming pool (12 x 4m), floodlit at night, and surrounded by comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas. On both sides of the building are the original patios in Tuscan stone, furnished with wrought iron tables and chairs and umbrellas, an ideal setting for an ‘al fresco’ lunch or early evening aperitif. The house has been restored to the highest of standards, while retaining its traditional Tuscan character. There are beautiful terracotta tiled floors and exposed beams in every room and several of the downstairs living rooms have frescoed walls. The ground floor also has a beautiful internal conservatory where breakfast may be taken. There is air conditioning and heating throughout, and the bedrooms on the first and second floors, each have superb en-suite bathrooms, equipped with hairdryer and bathrobes. Further amenities include central music system, satellite TV, DVD and internet access, and a barbecue. Every villa on the estate will have access to the shared tennis/football/volley fields as well as balls and rackets. Because the sports’ fields are shared, they will need to be reserved to ensure they are available.
