Monteroni D’Arbia history: The establishment of the Municipality took place in 1810, during the Napoleonic period, following the decisions taken by the Extraordinary Council of the Government of Tuscany. Until then the territory was part of the Buonconvento Podesta office. The name derives from one of the hills that dominates the town, called precisely Monte Roni, and from the fact that the river Arbia flows there. The historian of medieval historical toponymy Gaetano Barbarulo, who studied the form Tirone / Monterone, present in most of the Italian territory, derives Monteroni from a mountain compound, derived from the Latin mons, and Tirone, the result of the late Latin toro -onis, word from the meaning of “altura”. Villa Del Palio It sleeps 18 people and it features a private patio, a large garden of 10,000 m² maintained and equipped with swimming pool (15 m. X 7.50 m.), 200 m. from the main building there is a tennis court, Football court, bowling alley and a gym area. The property was renovated to keep the original features intact using materials typical of the Tuscan tradition and introducing new services and functional areas including a swimming pool, a tennis court, a bowling alley, and the annexes. The entrance to the villa is a sensory experience that fully envelops the guest. It projects an environment where the firm impression of the link with its history, the quiet beauty of the landscape, and the simplicity of the architectural lines of the building are combined with the elegant simplicity of the whole. The property will welcome you as one of its own. This is not reconstructed intimacy. You can enjoy your breakfasts quietly in the outside courtyard where the garden floral surrounds you. Its interior rooms are of unique charm, each enriched by an impressive view of the countryside and, in some cases, on a horizon on which stands the harmonious profile of Siena. Further appeal comes through the furnishing, many of which were bought in auctions or antique markets. The many paintings and beautiful series of drawings on display are of considerable importance.
Ground floor
Large living room with fireplace, pool table, sitting area with access to the garden and the romantic inner courtyard, dining room, large kitchen with a fireplace and wood stove, and full laundry facilities. There is a small wine cellar in the basement.
First floor
This floor boasts a large living room with Sat-TV, computer with internet access and fax machines. There is also a study with a piano. All rooms boast a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside and are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. All rooms and bathrooms are constructed with materials of the highest quality; brick floors, exposed beam ceilings, & antique furniture. The change of colors, materials, and amenities make these rooms unique. Each room is equipped with Hastens beds and the room configuration is as follows:
- Room #1: King bedroom with fireplace, TV, and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower
- Room #2: King bedroom with TV and en-suite bathroom with shower and steam room
- Room #3: Suite with king bed, fireplace, TV, en-suite bath with Jacuzzi tub and a studio with piano
- Room #4, 5, 6, 7: King bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower
Swimming-pool
Villa del Palio offers its guests a wide range of services for the care of your body and mind. You will have the opportunity to swim and relax in a swimming pool (15m x 7.50; depths vary from 0.90m- 3m), work in a bright gym, enjoy the tennis court, soccer field, or the bowling green. The gym is also equipped with a shower and sauna.
Dependance
Available on request, the dependence can sleep up to 4 and is located about 40 meters from the villa. It enjoys a living room, sofas, satellite TV, a dining area with fireplace & dining table, and a kitchen with a stove, oven, and dishwasher. There are two large bedrooms, each with a double bed and a bathroom with shower. All the ceilings and floors are made of fine wood and the bathrooms are constructed with yellow Siena marble. There is a large gym in the basement with a sauna and a bathroom with shower. The dependence has air conditioning.

To stay at Villa Del Palio you will need a car. You will be able to park it in a reserved parking space.
